Description:
Do you ever wish you had the opportunity to "meet" one of your alter egos? Here's the opportunity to do so - at least in doll form! Join Maureen Carlson as she shares her techniques for creating a one-of-a-kind, 12-inch tall art doll to hang on the wall.

Instruction will be given on creating a basic profile face, hands, shoes and hats – as well as accessories – from polymer clay.

The finished project in this class will be a wooden box embellished with polymer clay, paper, fiber, beads, and paint.  But it won't be just any old box.  It will be a vehicle for telling your story through symbols, images and words.  Time will be given in class to develop a theme and symbols which are personal to you and your story.

Class Description:

Learn to sculpt a face with Maureen Carlson, author of How to Make
Clay Characters, Family and Friends in Polymer Clay and the recently
published Fairies, Gnomes and Trolls.  Create a Wall Face or Mask to
hang either inside your house or outside on your garden gate.  In either
place, these character faces will surely add a touch of warmth and charm to the area.  The faces are designed not to wear, but to give personality to your environment.

#2. Sunday, Feb. 25 - Dolls on the Wall - Alter Ego Dolls

Class Description:

Learn some of Maureen's face-sculpting thechniques at the same time that you have fun learning some things about yourself.

This face-sculpting intensive is for those of you who have already sculpted faces but who are interested in making figures that resemble real people. Class time will be spent both in learning to "see" and in practicing sculpting skills. Body proportions in relation to the figure will also be analyzed.
