Dan and Maureen began the mail order part of Wee Folk Creations in 1989 when they produced their first instructional video, "Mug Dwellers and Wee Folk." .
The business quickly expanded to include all of the items that you would need to make polymer clay your hobby - or your profession. It became a leader in the field of polymer clay information and supplies. Then, in 2005, Dan cut back on the clay part of the mail order business in order to specialize in primarily Maureen Carlson designs, which includes the Gift and Collectibles division as well as those books, videos, molds and other items that were created or licensed by Maureen.
Maureen has been an avid fan of polymer clay since 1979,
when her first FIMO wee folk looked back at her and grinned - or so she says.
This stuff had life! It was magic! She teaches classes, demonstrates at national
shows, and writes how-to materials for books and magazines.

Maureen has written many book for Hot Off The Press, has 7 teaching videos and has written 4 full length books for North Light Books, "How to Make Clay Characters", item# A8845, and "Family and Friends in Polymer Clay", item # A8859, both $22.99 retail, plus "Clay Characters for Kids" and "Imagine Your World in Polymer Clay". She is currently working on a 5th title: Fairies, Gnomes and Trolls. She has also written two books for Design Originals, including "ARt Faces in Clay" and "Pasta Machine Techniques for Polymer Clay".
