Lyrics of
I REFUSE TO BE
A slave to AI technology
I refuse to be
I don't want it
That's just not for me
Or, would life be better?
To follow it to the letter
Maybe I should wait and see
Today I was walking, walking down the street
When an old man on the corner
I had a chance to meet
He was mumbling quite loud
And waving both his hands
But soon it made sense to me
And this is how it stands
He said--why must I cross the street?
When the light turns green
I hate being told what to do
By a damned machine
A slave to AI tech
I refuse to be
I don't want it
That's just not for me
His eyes were red and nasty
As he looked the other way
Then he turned around with a raspy sound
As he began to say
Please don't think I'm crazy
I was only joking
I like making fun of things
By giving a good poking
But really, really driver less cars?
That move around by wire
If one breaks down in the middle of town
Who gets out to change a tire?
A slave to AI tech
I refuse to be
I don't want it
That's just not for me
Then there's the telephone
Which I really really hate
When I'm trying to make an appointment
On a certain date
A recording says the line is busy
Then it makes me wait and wait and wait and wait!
When I was young, life was fun
We could talk to a real human being
Now it sucks to converse
With out seeing or believing
Say AI six times real fast he said
It sounds just like a polka
To me that's fine if you're inclined
To make it a joke...a joke
A slave to AI tech
I refuse to be
I don't want it
That's just not for me
Now just this morning said he
At a fast food restaurant
I had to order from a kiosk
To get the meal I want
It was so confusing
AI made it really hard
And after all was said and done
It refused my credit card
Then he stared at me with those bloodshot eyes
And mumbled, this I just can't handle
I feel like AI's making me burn both ends of the candle
I wish I was young again
Can you dig what I mean?
When life was slow we didn't know
That AI would become the scene
One way or the other I'm telling you brother
I refuse to be a slave to a machine
