ROSES ARE RED

Roses are red
Violets are blue
But everything is not rosie
I think you see it too.

When I look into what my life gave up
I can see that it's too late for me.
Time has brought a creeping wind
To make me aware of what I see.

Darkness is but a temporary dimness
Through my eyelids I squint away
Trying to see the tunnel in my mind
If I smoothly drift I will see the end of the day.

It wasn't so bad
My mind comprehends
But am I fooling myself
Am I just needing amends

Now the light glows 
With never ending starlight
At the end is my destination
And it is such a wonderful sight.

I am accepted and now I am whole
I can relax
I am forgiven
And now I am home.
