I worked up to jumping in and found myself excited.
Floating rapidly on my belly
on the swift river currents
in the center of the flow.

After anxiety and forceful kicking
to direct my route to safety
I flipped onto my back to float face up
Things calmed down rather nicely

Surprisingly into the calm pool of water
tucked into the river's edge,
reversing my direction back upstream.
and all unexpectedly.

I gazed up at the dappled light
reflected onto the crown of leaves
They were shading my sweet, seductive
and warm sultry day.

Blissed out by the cool cool water
and simple joys with no strife
Marveling amidst the presence of unending time
this ever-changing river of life.

Then I did it all over again!
