Lyrics of The Flower Child

As the flower child slowly goes to seed
His streets no longer paved in gold
His tye-dye T shirts all faded and worn
Like him they are getting quite old

As the shadows descend upon the land
And the leaves begin to fall
He grins remembering the prime of his life
When he was sure that he had it all

Bell bottoms long hair and floppy sandals
Were meant to be part of "The Scene".
Young and cocky tall and stocky
He was a regular party machine

He remembers the good times oh so well
Playing in a Rock and Roll band
Never say never he would party forever
Or until he could no longer stand

Once he had met a young flower girl
He can still remember the day
With braids in her hair and a painted face
And how she took his breath away

Bell bottoms long hair and floppy loose sandals
Were meant to be part of "The Scene".
Young and cocky tall and stocky
He was a regular party machine

Now he sits on his broken down doorstep
In the middle of his old home town
Feeling inner peace and good vibrations
Just watching the Sun go down

As the flower child slowly goes to seed
And his world no longer shines like gold
All his tye-dye T shirts hangin in his closet
Oh the memories they hold
